EASTERN AFRICA

Eastern Africa stretches from the Horn of Africa in the north to the Zambezi River basin in the south, encompassing a stretch of the continent marked by the Great Rift Valley, the African Great Lakes, and coastline along the Indian Ocean. The region contains some of the oldest evidence of human life on earth and an extraordinary range of ecosystems, from high-altitude plateaus and volcanic highlands to coral reefs and tropical islands.
