SINGAPORE

Singapore is a city-state island nation at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, separated from Malaysia by the Johor Strait to the north and from Indonesia’s Riau Islands by the Singapore Strait to the south. It is one of the world’s smallest countries by area and among the most densely populated, and has developed since independence in 1965 into one of Asia’s most significant financial, shipping, and trade hubs.
