MALAYSIA

Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country divided into two distinct regions: Peninsular Malaysia, which shares a land border with Thailand and a maritime border with Singapore, and the states of Sabah and Sarawak on the northern portion of the island of Borneo. It was a significant center of the global spice trade for centuries and was unified as a federation following British colonial rule in 1963, incorporating territories that had been administered separately across the peninsula and Borneo.
