ROMANIA

Romania is a country in southeastern Europe bordered by Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Hungary, with a coastline along the Black Sea. It was the eastern frontier of the Roman Empire, a history reflected in its Latin-derived language, which distinguishes it linguistically from its Slavic neighbors, and its territory of Transylvania has been one of Central Europe’s most historically contested regions, passing between Hungarian, Ottoman, and Romanian control over the centuries.
