MONTANA

Montana contains two of the most significant national parks in the United States: Glacier National Park, home to some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in North America and more than 700 miles of hiking trails, and the northeastern section of Yellowstone. The Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument marks the site of the 1876 battle in which Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho forces defeated the US 7th Cavalry Regiment under Lieutenant Colonel George Custer, one of the most significant engagements of the American Indian Wars.
