SWITZERLAND

Switzerland is a landlocked country in Central Europe bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and Liechtenstein. It has maintained a policy of political neutrality since 1815, a status recognized under international law, and has not participated in a foreign war since then, making it a traditional host for international diplomatic institutions, including the headquarters of the Red Cross and numerous United Nations agencies. It has four official languages, German, French, Italian, and Romansh, reflecting its position at the cultural crossroads of Central Europe.
