Croatia is a country on the eastern Adriatic coast, bordered by Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. It has one of the longest and most indented coastlines in Europe, with more than 1,200 islands, islets, and reefs along its Adriatic shore, and its historic city of Dubrovnik, a well-preserved walled medieval port, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
