MALDIVES

The Maldives is an island nation in the Indian Ocean southwest of Sri Lanka and India, consisting of roughly 1,200 coral islands grouped into 26 atolls. It is the lowest-lying country in the world, with a maximum natural ground elevation of approximately 2.4 meters above sea level, making it among the nations most immediately threatened by rising sea levels associated with climate change.
