Laos is a landlocked country in mainland Southeast Asia, bordered by China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar. It is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia and remains one of the region’s least urbanized nations, with much of its territory covered by mountainous terrain and the Mekong River running the length of its western border with Thailand.
