FLORIDA

Florida is the southernmost state in the contiguous United States and one of its most ecologically distinct, containing the Everglades, the largest subtropical wilderness in North America and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beyond its well-documented beaches and theme parks, the state offers the coral reef system of the Florida Keys, the spring-fed rivers of its interior, a significant Spanish colonial history centered in St. Augustine, the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the United States, and the John F. Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral.
