SLOVENIA

Slovenia is a small country in Central Europe bordered by Austria, Italy, Hungary, and Croatia, with a short coastline along the Adriatic Sea. Despite its size, it contains a striking range of terrain, from the Julian Alps in the northwest to the karst limestone plateau of the Karst region, which gave the world the term “karst” as a geological concept, and the Mediterranean-influenced coast along the Gulf of Trieste.
