IDAHO

Idaho contains some of the most dramatic and least visited wilderness in the contiguous United States, including the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, the largest contiguous wilderness area in the lower 48 states. Craters of the Moon National Monument preserves one of the most extensive lava fields in North America, the Sawtooth Mountains draw serious backcountry hikers and climbers, and the Salmon River cuts through terrain so remote that it was among the last areas of the continental United States to be mapped.
