Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, situated roughly 1,070 kilometers east of North Carolina and considerably further from the Caribbean than its tropical reputation might suggest. It is the oldest and most populous remaining British Overseas Territory and has one of the highest GDP per capita figures in the world, driven largely by its status as a major international insurance and reinsurance hub.
