MONTENEGRO

Montenegro is a small country on the Adriatic coast of the western Balkans, bordered by Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, and Albania. It is one of the newer sovereign states in Europe, having declared independence from the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro in 2006, and its Bay of Kotor, a deeply indented inlet surrounded by medieval fortifications and steep limestone mountains, is one of the most geographically distinctive coastal features in the Mediterranean.
