BRUNEI DARUSSALAM
Brunei Darussalam is a small sultanate on the northern coast of the island of Borneo, surrounded on its land borders by the Malaysian state of Sarawak and divided into two non-contiguous sections by a strip of Malaysian territory. It has been ruled by the same royal family for over six centuries, making its sultanate one of the oldest in the world, and its substantial oil and natural gas reserves have given it one of the highest GDP per capita figures in Asia.
