BARBADOS

Barbados is a small island nation in the eastern Caribbean, situated further into the Atlantic Ocean than most of its neighbors in the Lesser Antilles. It was a British colony for more than 300 years before gaining independence in 1966 and became a republic in 2021, making it one of the most recent countries in the world to remove the British monarch as head of state.
