TUVALU
Tuvalu is a Pacific island nation consisting of nine atolls and reef islands in the central Pacific Ocean, situated midway between Hawaii and Australia. It is the fourth smallest country in the world by area and one of the least visited, with its remote location and limited air connections making it among the most difficult sovereign nations to reach. Like Kiribati, it faces an existential threat from rising sea levels, and in 2023 it signed a treaty with Australia that provides a pathway for its entire population to relocate to Australia in the event that the islands become uninhabitable.
