KIRIBATI
Kiribati is a Pacific island nation consisting of 33 atolls and reef islands spread across the central Pacific Ocean, straddling both the equator and the International Date Line. It is the only country in the world to be situated in all four hemispheres simultaneously and, due to its extremely low elevation, is among the nations most immediately threatened by rising sea levels, with the government having taken steps to purchase land in Fiji as a contingency against the potential uninhabitability of its own territory.
