GUERNSEY
Guernsey is a British Crown Dependency in the English Channel, situated roughly 50 kilometers off the coast of Normandy, France. It is not part of the United Kingdom but is a self-governing possession of the British Crown with its own parliament, legal system, and tax regime, and was the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by German forces during World War II, from 1940 until liberation in 1945.
