YEMEN
Yemen is a country at the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, bordered by Saudi Arabia to the north and Oman to the east, with coastline along the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea. It is home to the ancient walled city of Shibam, whose multi-story mud brick tower houses dating to the 16th century have been described as among the earliest examples of vertical urban construction in history, and the island of Socotra, whose high level of endemic biodiversity has led to its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
