FRENCH GUIANA

French Guiana is an overseas territory and department of France located on the northeastern coast of South America, bordered by Brazil and Suriname. Unlike other territories on the continent, it is constitutionally part of France itself and therefore a member of the European Union, and its economy is closely tied to the Guiana Space Centre near Kourou, one of the world’s primary commercial and governmental rocket launch facilities.
