JAMAICA

Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean, situated south of Cuba and west of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles. It was a major center of British sugar production during the colonial era, relying heavily on enslaved African labor, and has since independence in 1962 developed a cultural influence internationally disproportionate to its size, particularly through music, athletics, and its diaspora communities.
