FALKLAND ISLANDS
The Falkland Islands are a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic Ocean, situated roughly 480 kilometers east of the Patagonian coast of Argentina. The islands were the site of the 1982 Falklands War, a ten-week armed conflict between the United Kingdom and Argentina following Argentina’s invasion, and sovereignty over the archipelago remains a point of ongoing dispute between the two countries.
